Faithful Responses to Strangers, Immigrants, and Refugees:

A Pittsburgh Conversation

Thursday, November 2

9:30 – 11:00 a.m.

Alex and Leona Robinson Building

Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh

5738 Darlington Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15217

Faith communities can lead the way in offering welcome to our region’s newcomers. On November 2, join with your fellow religious leaders to:

  • Explore the scriptures of the Jewish and Christian traditions to identify messages of welcome, inspired by the recent volume in Christian Associates’ “The Word in Our Voices” series, “I Was a Stranger and You Welcomed Me.”

  • Hear directly from immigrants and refugees, sharing their experiences of finding a home in our region,

  • Meet representatives from local organizations serving immigrants, who can connect your congregation with hands-on ways to help.

  • Recognize and celebrate the preachers published in “I Was a Stranger and You Welcomed Me.”

All religious leaders, both clergy and laity, are welcome to attend. Your pre-registration is appreciated; please complete the form below.
